Boeing's Workforce in Washington State Shrinks by Almost 2,200 Employees
FEATURED
In a notice submitted to Washington’s Employment Security Department on Monday, Boeing revealed that it has already let go of 2,199 employees in the state—a fraction of the job cuts that are set to amount to approximately 17,000 across the company.
In October, the renowned aerospace titan revealed its plans to reduce its workforce by approximately 10% in the near future. This decision came as the company grappled with mounting financial and regulatory challenges, compounded by a machinists' strike that had stretched on for nearly two months, leaving it striving to find its footing once more.
According to The Seattle Times, the anticipated workforce reductions will affect employees at Boeing facilities scattered across the nation, spanning from Washington to Missouri, Arizona, and South Carolina. The effects seemed to ripple through the workforce, touching employees across all three divisions of Boeing.
