The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Tuesday that an E. coli epidemic associated with McDonald's had been contained.
In 14 states, the outbreak caused at least 104 illnesses, with around one-third of those cases resulting in hospitalization. In Colorado, an 88-year-old man lost his life. According to the CDC, the overall number of illnesses was probably substantially higher.
