Israeli tank and artillery fire targeted numerous villages in southern Lebanon on Thursday, as reported by Lebanese state media. The Israeli military cautioned civilians against returning to the vicinity, despite the ongoing cease-fire between Hezbollah and Israel being upheld in most parts of the country. The incidents of flare-ups were documented in the regions of Taybeh, Khiam, Marjeyoun, and Kfarshouba. In an official statement, the Israel Defense Forces have indicated that multiple individuals suspected of breaching the terms of the cease-fire were observed arriving in vehicles to locations in southern Lebanon. It failed to provide further details regarding the locations or the identities of the individuals involved. No casualties were reported by either the IDF or the Lebanese state media. As the cessation of gunfire occurred on Wednesday morning, the thoroughfares leading to southern Lebanon became congested with vehicles, as apprehensive and fatigued families endeavored to make their way back to the villages and towns from which they had evacuated. The Israeli military continues to be present in the region and is scheduled to withdraw within a period of 60 days, in accordance with an agreement involving the Lebanese army and the United Nations. The Interim Force stationed in Lebanon has been deployed to maintain peace in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the agreement facilitated by the United States and France.
